Brainspotting Therapy

Brainspotting Therapy with Angel Tang
Brainspotting enhances traditional talk therapy by working with the mind and body’s innate ability to heal.
By accessing and processing emotions and trauma memories from a bottom-up, deeper level,
This treatment is a non-oppressive therapy technique that can help achieve sustained healing and resilience.

What is Brainspotting?

Brainspotting is a powerful and effective therapeutic technique that can help you access and process deep-rooted trauma memories, physiological distress, and psychological overwhelm.

I will use your specific eye gaze positions to identify neurophysiological sources of emotional and trauma pains. In this trauma processing technique, you will internally and outwardly process emotional overwhelms in our grounded and contained therapeutic space. Some somatic and sensory processing will occur during the brainspotting session. The treatment modality involves identifying specific points in the visual field that are related to your emotional distress.

Compared to talk therapy, which activates the neocortical brain, brainspotting accesses the subcortical brain, where trauma experiences in memory form are stored and unprocessed to preserve a person’s present survival.

Brainspotting taps into your brain’s neuroplasticity and neurogenesis to aid in your resilience and ability to heal from past traumas.
